Monsters University Printable Cupcake Toppers to Celebrate #MonstersUPremiere

I’m so excited Monsters University is in theaters right now! To celebrate I created some Monsters University printable cupcake toppers, and of course the cupcakes to go with them! The original Monsters Inc movie was the first movie we took our son to see in theaters so it has a special place in my heart! Now my son is going to see the latest Monsters University tomorrow with his girl friend, can you believe it?

I created the printable in PicMonkey, and I’ve attached it here if you want to print it out for your own cupcakes: Monsters University Printable Cupcake Toppers All you have to do is print out the sheet, then cut out the Monsters University Printable cupcake toppers with a pair of scissors.

Once you have the printable toppers cut apart, you can glue a toothpick to the back of each one, so 2/3 of the toothpick sticks out below to insert it into the cupcake. Set the glued toppers aside to dry.

While the toppers are drying, ice the cupcakes with your favorite decorator icing. I like to use a Wilton 1M tip on the end of a pastry bag filled with icing. I swirl the tip around in circles from the outside of the cupcake into the center. I used a few drops of royal blue food color in the decorator icing. I also found some bright green cupcake wraps that went perfectly with the color scheme at a local cake decorating shop.

The whole thing came together nicely, and it was super easy with the Monsters University printable cupcake topper. Once I created it, I just had to print it out, cut it out and glue it on! These cupcakes would be perfect for a Monsters University premiere or birthday party, or just because you have a Monsters fan in the family like my son.
