Baseball Senior Sign With Cricut Maker

I can’t believe my nephew is graduating this spring with all the crazinesss! It seems like only yesterday when he was born! A couple weeks ago we were looking for baseball senior sign ideas for him, and my sister came across a baseball senior picture idea that was hand painted on a home plate that said, “And That’s The Ballgame.” It was on Facebook, in a group. If I knew where the original came from I would link back, since it was totally our inspiration for this one! We decided to make a similar senior baseball sign with my Cricut Maker!

First we needed to find a home plate. We found a wood home plate on Amazon, and decided that would be perfect! It came in a 3 pack, but we decided having extras to play with was a good thing! After painting it white with white spray paint, we left it dry for a day.

Make A Baseball Senior Sign With Cricut Maker

Like I said, I just got a new Cricut Maker a couple months ago. Let’s play! We decided instead of hand lettering, we would use Design Space to design the sign, and print it out on permanent vinyl. In Cricut Design Space we looked for a hand written font to put on the sign instead of painting it. We found the Alex Brush Font. Using that font made we made the individual letters about an inch tall. Making the font bold to made it a little heavier. We printed it on the black matte permanent vinyl, and attached it to the wood home plate, after a test run on some black card stock.

The card stock version also worked well for placement on the sign, since it didn’t stick to it, the letters could be moved around, and if the letters were large enough for what we wanted.

We also added a 2020 on there for his graduation year to the bottom using Abril FatFace font in Design Space, about 1 1/4 inch tall. The sign turned out great! If you don’t want it to look hand written you could use a thicker font but the sign turned out really cool! The sign was a great idea for his senior photos, and it’s a great keepsake for his senior year! If you try making this baseball senior picture sign, let us know how it turns out! We’d love to see your photos! Just tag us on Instagram @SweetPartyPlaceShop or in Facebook @SweetPartyPlace.
