5 Fun Veteran’s Day- Patriotic Craft Ideas For Kids

by Linette

Veterans Day is the perfect opportunity to help kids learn about our country, honor those who serve, and celebrate with a little creativity. Making patriotic crafts together is a fun and meaningful way to spark conversations about gratitude and service while spending quality time as a family. I’ve gathered some of my favorite Veterans Day craft ideas for kids that are simple, hands-on, and full of red, white, and blue spirit. Each one includes a link to the original site so you can easily find step-by-step instructions to make your own.

  1. DIY Fabric Scrap Craft – From Thistle Key Lane, these adorable little flags are a fun way to use up fabric scraps you already have at home. They’re simple enough for kids to help with and make a sweet, rustic decoration for Veterans Day or any patriotic celebration. Display them in a jar, tuck them into a wreath, or line them up on the table for a festive handmade touch.

2. Mini Patriotic Bouquets– From My Passionate Soul, these mini patriotic bouquets are as beautiful as they are easy to make. They’re perfect for kids and adults to craft together, and the finished result is something you’ll actually want to display. Use them as a festive patriotic tabel centerpiece.

3. Patriotic Uncle Sam Napkin Rings~ From 365 Days of Crafts, these Uncle Sam hat napkin rings are a fun and simple project that even young kids can help with. They come together quickly using basic craft supplies and add a playful patriotic touch to your table.

4. Handprint Flag Craft – – From Home & Hallow, this adorable handprint flag craft is such a meaningful and creative way for kids to show their patriotic spirit. It’s simple enough for younger children but still fun for older kids, making it a great group project for classrooms, homeschool activities, or Veterans Day learning. I love how it turns little handprints into a keepsake that families can cherish year after year.

5. Veteran’s Day Soldier Craft – From Fantastic Fun and Learning, this sweet little soldier craft is such a creative way for kids to honor the heroes who serve our country. I had to look hard to find a good soldier-themed craft, and this one is absolutely adorable. It’s easy to make with just a few basic supplies and perfect for classroom projects, homeschool lessons, or a meaningful Veterans Day activity at home.

Which one of these Veterans Day crafts is your favorite? I’d love to hear which project you’re planning to try, or if you have another fun Veterans Day craft idea to share! Drop it in the comments or tag me on social media — I always love seeing your creative projects.

I’m loving the hand print flag and the solider. Great ideas. I would love for you to share on my Sunday’s Best linkup. The Uncle Sam napkin ring is perfect for the 4th of July too.
