Sweet Treat Holiday Party Mix

by Linette

During the holidays you never know when a last minute party will pop up or when family or friends might stop by to wish you a Merry Christmas or a Happy New Year. I like to keep some fun and festive snacks on hand for just that type of occasion. This sweet holiday party mix is perfect! You can make it ahead and keep it in an airtight container ready for guests.

This holiday party mix can also make a great last minute gift. You can add it to a decorative tin, or some decorative treat bags, add a bow and a gift tag and you’re ready for any last minute surprises.

Here’s the recipe:

Festive Holiday Party Mix Recipe

Ingredients:

9 cups Crispix or Corn Chex Cereal
3 cups Cheerios
1 cups peanuts
6 oz. M & M’s Red and Green for Christmas of course!
7 oz. mini twist pretzels
2 packages almond bark or vanilla flavored bark (candy coating)

Directions:

  1. In a really large bowl, mix all dry ingredients together. If you don’t have a jumbo size bowl, you may need to make it in two batches. Just put half in each bowl.
  2. Melt the candy coating slowly in microwave, according to the package directions.
  3. Pour the melted candy coating over the dry ingredients then stir it until it thoroughly coats everything.
  4. Place a long piece of wax paper on the counter top, or on a large cookie sheet.  Spread the mixture on top. Break apart when cool.

This will make plenty of holiday mix or snacking parties, and gift giving!
