Cranberry sauce is a holiday favorite at our house, but so is applesauce this time of year, so why not combine the two and make cranberry applesauce! I love the tart flavor of cranberries, it’s one of my favorite flavors for Thanksgiving and through the holiday season! Today I have a festive cranberry applesauce recipe to share. This recipe combines the perfect balance of sweet and tart for your holiday lineup. The applesauce provides a natural sweetener without adding too much sugar.
It’s super easy to make and full of fresh fruit goodness! You can substitute in any sweet apple (like Gala, or Fuji) for the Red Delicious. Fresh cranberries should be easy to find this time of year at your local grocery in the fresh produce section. Yum! This is one of my favorite dishes to bring along to a holiday carry in. You can double or even triple the recipe to feed a crowd. I’m planning to take it to our family Thanksgiving dinner next week. When this is simmering it makes the whole house smell wonderful! The best aromatherapy ever for this time of year.
