I was looking for a super easy patriotic cupcake topper for our 4th of July celebration this year. I decided I’d create my own fun patriotic star printable cupcake toppers, and share them with you! Here’s how they turned out!
I created the patriotic cupcake topper star printable in PicMonkey using their star shape. I layered several stars one on top of the other, each one a little smaller to get the striped look. You can create your own, or print out the file I have attached. I created a PDF so you can just print it out and cut out the stars. Print out one red and blue patriotic star cupcake topper for each cupcake you want to decorate.
They’ll add a simple fun touch to your 4th of July or other summer celebration. Just click on the image, or click here: Patriotic Star Printable Cupcake Topper
Once you’ve printed out the star cupcake topper, use a pair of scissors to cut each one apart. Glue a toothpick to the back of each star, then set the toppers aside to dry.
While the toppers are drying, bake up a batch of cupcakes according to the package or recipe directions. My favorite recipe is a basic vanilla cupcake. Once the cupcakes are baked and have had a chance to cool completely, add your favorite vanilla cupcake icing, either with a decorator spatula or with a pastry bag with a Wilton 1M tip on the end. Swirl the icing from the outside in while squeezing the pastry bag gently.
Carefully add the patriotic star printable cupcake topper gently to the center of the cupcake. Repeat the process for each cupcake.
The cupcakes with the patriotic cupcake topper will make a nice display all together on your 4th of July holiday table! They’re super easy, and quick to make! You can even have your kids cut them out and assemble the printable toppers.
Have fun!
