Creamy Avocado Dressing or Dip Recipe #iloveavocados

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Avocados from Mexico for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

It can be really difficult to get children to eat healthy, believe me, I know! My son would love to junk out on junk food 24-7. Sometimes even the things we think are healthy aren’t. Salad dressings and dips can be loaded with questionable ingredients, that’s why I like to make my own whenever possible.

One of my favorite dip and salad recipes is a creamy avocado dressing that’s loaded with good fats (from the avocado), and has a wonderful flavor.

Avocado Dressing Recipe

  • 1 Ripe avocado
  • 1 Clove garlic, rough chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh cilantro
  • 2 Tablespoons lemon or lime
  • 1-2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • Dash of sea salt

Place all of the ingredients into a food processor and process until smooth.

I always start with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and add more if the mixture is too thick. You can also add a little more lemon or lime to the mixture.

We use this recipe to top salads, as a dip for fresh veggies, or as a dip for chips. With the lemon in it to keep the avocado from turning brown, it will even last in the fridge for a day or two.

This is just one of my favorite recipes using Avocados from Mexico. Are you avocado fans at your house too? Do you have recipes your kids just love? You can share the love by becoming an avocado fan on Facebook, just click I love avocados on Facebook to become a fan. I found this cute little button for my blog there. I just clicked the “embed” button and copied the code to paste here on my blog. Super simple.

I also found this guacamole image for a screen saver on the Facebook page. I just clicked the download button, picked a size and saved it to my image files. I went into the Control Panel, Personalize, pulled up the image (don’t forget where you saved it) and set it as my desktop background. It’s going to make me hungry for guacamole every time I see it! Yum!
