Disney Animated Movies For 2011

by Linette

In 2011 Disney’s animated movies are bringing back several characters we already love to love, and introducing some new characters to fall in love with. They’re bringing back Cars, Winnie The Pooh and The Muppets in this year’s animated films. Kids and adults will enjoy revisiting these favorite characters.

Disney will also be introducing some new characters this year, like this first animated film, Gnomeo and Juliet premiering next weekend February 11th.

Gnomeo and Juliet
Premieres February 11th 2011
Two star crossed garden gnomes are caught up in a feud between neighbors and have several obstacles to overcome if they want to get together, including lawn mower races and pink flamingos. A cute little love story for kids just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Mars Needs Moms
Premieres March 11th 2011
This Disney movie is from the same people who produced Polar Express, and the animation is very similar. I loved Polar Express, so I’m looking forward to checking this film out. Milo doesn’t appreciate his mom until after Martians come to Earth and take her away.

Cars 2
Premieres June 24th 2011
This is a long awaited sequel! All of our favorite Cars characters including Lightning McQueen and Mater are back for an international race against some of the fastest cars in the world!

Winnie The Pooh Movie
Premieres July 15th 2011
I can’t wait to see this movie! I’m a big Pooh fan from when I was a child! Pooh and all his old friends are back, and on a quest to find Eeyore a new tail.

The Muppets
Premieres November 23rd 2011
OK, so this movie’s not exactly animated, but I’m sure it will be a big hit with kids and adults who remember The Muppets of their childhood! Come along for the ride and get to know some old friends all over again when Kermit the Frog and his Muppet pals put on a show to save their old theater.

I’ll have more on all these movies as the year goes by, including the latest toys, trailers, party supplies and ideas. What do you think are you ready for some great animated films in 2011?
