Pizza On The Grill With Wilton Armetale

I love cooking on the grill year round and my whole family loves pizza. That’s why I was super excited when I had the opportunity to review a Wilton Armetale grill pan. I love this pan! Wilton Armetale’s Gourmet Grillware Griddle makes pizza on the grill super easy! Before I had the  griddle I had to either buy a premade pizza crust to put right on the grill, or I had to pre-bake the crust in the oven to get it firm enough to hold up on the grill for topping and final baking. With the Wilton Armetale pan I can make up the crust and bake the pizza all in one pan! The pan helps heat the bottom of the pizza evenly for better results. When I grilled pizza right on the grill rack I would get uneven heating because of the flames.

Here’s my recipe for Pizza On The Grill:

    Ingredients:

Pizza crust mix or your favorite pizza crust recipe

    1 cup tomato sauce

    1 teaspoon oregano

    1 teaspoon basil

    1 teaspoon garlic powder

    2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

    1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese

    Optional toppings:

    sliced mushrooms

    diced peppers

    diced onion

    pepperoni

    sausage

    bacon bits

    Instructions:

Mix up the pizza crust according to the package or recipe directions.

After you let the crust sit to rise, spray the grill pan with non stick cooking spray and spread the crust evenly across the top of the grill pan.

Bake on the grill at low heat with the grill lid down for about 5 minutes.

Remove from the heat, and flip the crust over.

Mix together the tomato sauce, oregano, basil and garlic powder and spread the mixture over the top of the pizza crust.

Top with the shredded mozzarella and parmesan cheese and your choice of toppings.

Grill the pizza over low heat with the grill lid down for another 10 to 12 minutes or until the crust is a light golden brown and the cheese starts to bubble on top.

The Gourmet Grillware Griddle makes it easy to make the pizza, cook it and serve it all one. I love it! I don’t have to heat up the oven, and I don’t have to wash 20 different dishes. Pizza night is supposed to be easy, right? Since I can cook and serve all in one piece, it also makes it easy to entertain, and it keeps the food hot longer since I’m serving it up on the warm griddle.

Clean up was also super easy and it’s guaranteed against breakage for a lifetime, and there’s no rust like you have with cast iron. You can find more information on the Gourmet Grillware Griddle here:  Wilton Armetale’s Gourmet Grillware Line.
