Remember the saying “March, in like a lion, out like a lamb?” Or is it “March, in like a lamb out like a lion?” Either way, I remember creating lion and lamb crafts many years ago when I was in school, so I thought I’d put together some lion and lamb crafts and activities to share here at Sweet Party Place. Do you remember making a lamb craft in school?
First up I have a cute little lamb craft that would be fun for a March lion and lamb idea, for a farmyard birthday party, or a Timmy Time (Shaun the Sheep) birthday party. I made the this little lamb with a black face, but you could also give it a white face.
March Lamb Craft
Materials:
- Black construction paper or card stock
- White construction paper or card stock
- Cotton balls (3-4 per lamb)
- 2~ 3″ twigs or sticks per lamb
- Pair of wiggly eyes per lamb
- Glue
- Scissors
- Lamb Craft Pattern
Directions:
1. Print and cut out the Lamb Craft Pattern (link above).
2. Trace around the lambs face on black or white construction paper or card stock, and cut out.
3. Trace around the lambs body on white construction paper or card stock and cut out.
3. Have the kids tear the cotton balls into smaller pieces.
4. Let the kids glue 3-4 cotton ball pieces to the top of the lamb’s head, and add the wiggly eyes to his face, then set the lambs face aside.
5. Let the kids spread glue on the lambs body, and glue the rest of the cotton ball pieces to the body. For younger kids, you may want to do one section at a time.
6. Flip the lamb’s body over, and glue the twigs to the side you want to be the bottom of the lamb. Glue the twig legs so they are about half on, half off the body. Set the lamb’s body aside to let the legs dry for a few minutes.
7. Flip the lamb’s body back over, and use plenty of glue to add the face.
You can leave the lamb like this, and hang it on the wall. You can also glue it to your favorite color of construction paper or card stock. You can also let the kids color a white piece of construction paper to create a background for their lamb.
