Making your own gift tags is very simple. Here are a three easy ideas so you can make your own gift tags this year.
1. Reuse your old Christmas cards. If you have old Christmas cards from previous years, or even this years cards when your done displaying them. Take the scissors and cut out the main image on the front of the card. Punch a hole in the top with a hole punch, tie on a decorative ribbon, and write your to, from on the back. It’s fast, it’s festive, and it’s almost free.
2. You can also purchase Christmas, or winter cardstock, or scrapbook papers from your local craft or office supply store. Use two complimentary colors. Cut a square with a plastic template, or any other shape you desire your tag to be. You can use cookie cutters to make your shapes if you don’t have a template. If you can cut another smaller shape to fit inside. Glue the smaller shape to the top of the larger. If you have a from-to stamp, or Merry Christmas, stamp the tag before filling in the names. If you don’t have stamps, handwrite the information neatly on the tag.
3. You can also purchase business card stock (or cut your own card stock to size) and sponge paint the edges with gold, silver, red, green, blue, or any combination of these. Punch a hole in the corner to add a decorative ribbon, and write or stamp your message in the center.
