So Fab or Social Fabric is also know to some as a part of Collective Bias. I’ve been a part of Social Fabric for about a year and a half now, and I’ve learned so much, and enjoyed every minute of it. Social Fabric is holding their first ever conference this year, #SoFabCon. The conference is May 3rd to the 5th in Bentonville Arkansas. I soooo want to go but the plane ticket, hotel stay, and conference ticket are not in our budget right now. The good news is Social Fabric is giving away 12 conference trips to both Social Fabric members, and the general public. I would love it if Social Fabric would fly me to SoFabCon!
I’ve been racking my brain to show how much I love Social Fabric for days! I’ve seen tons of great videos popping up on YouTube, but I’m not that great in front of the video camera (yet), and I just couldn’t think of anything original and different to catch their attention, and show Social Fabric and their staff the love. Nothing seemed worthy enough.
Then it finally hit me! I can show how much I #LuvSoFab with a cake! Baking a cake for someone is definitely a symbol of love, right? Baking cakes is something I’m getting fairly good at! I could do this! Here is my labor of love for SoFabcon.
I would love to attend SoFabCon this year because I love Social Fabric! I love working with them, I love the people, their message, and what they stand for.
Why do I love Social Fabric?
With Social Fabric I get paid to shop, take pictures and create! Three things I love to do! What can be better than that?! I also love the Social Fabric community. Since I joined a year and a half ago I have met some wonderful people (online), and everyone I’ve worked with has been kind and helpful. I would love to work with Social Fabric even more in the future, and I would love to meet the people I’ve worked with face to face.
Social Fabric has helped me move out of my comfort zone. When did my first shop I was petrified I would get yelled at for taking photos. Now I do it with ease. In fact, I photograph everything, even when I’m not on a shop! My family just rolls their eyes at me. I love it when I capture that perfect (for me) shot, it’s such a rush. Here is a roundup of a few of my favorite shops I’ve done so far.
- Pizza Stuffed Mushrooms (upper left corner)
- Coconut Cream Almond Mocha (upper right)
- Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cupcakes (lower left)
- 4th of July Outdoor Party Ideas (lower right)
Why do I want to go to SoFabCon?
I soak up every single course and lesson Social Fabric posts online. I can’t wait for more from SoFabU! I also try to learn from any feedback I get from the shops so I can improve for the next one. I look back at some of my first shops and I know I’ve come a long way. I’m also loving the sessions the monthly mentors are putting on, but I’d still like to learn more! I’d love to attend SoFabCon this year so I can soak up as much knowledge as possible, meet the SoFab team and some of my fellow SoFab bloggers!
I love photography, and I want to soak in as much photography knowledge as I can! Actually for me this is the biggest reason. I’ve discovered I LOVE to be behind the camera! I’ve been soaking up everything I can on food photography, but I want more! I want to have the ability to make my cakes, and the other food I make look mouth watering in photos!
What would this experience mean to me?
The ability to attend SoFabCon would mean a wealth of knowledge for me. I would soak it up from every person and every session while I was there. It would help me grow as a blogger and as a photographer. It would also mean stepping out from my comfort zone behind my computer and meeting people and getting social in real life. One of my big goals for this year is to step out of my comfort zone to interact with others more.
What will #SoFabCon empower me to do after the conference?
I will be empowered to improve my photography skills. This is a big one for me. I love to be behind the camera snapping away. I’d love to have more confidence in my skill level and photography knowledge.
I will become better in my social interactions. I tend to be a little clumsy in my efforts now. I would like to build my Return On Relationship. I recently soaked in Ted Rubin’s book, and I’d love to build on my relationship knowledge and reinforce it even more. I’m still struggling a little with social media and getting it right, but I want to build those relationships.
I will be empowered to work even more with Social Fabric and their wonderful brands. I always enjoy my shops for So Fab and I’d love to work with them more on shops. I would love to work with SoFab in other ways in the future. Learning more about what brands are looking for would be a big plus.
SoFabCon will empower me to improve my writing, photography, and communication skills so I can be the best I can be!
I’ve been racking my brain to try to figure out how I could fit the plain tickets, the conference ticket, and the hotel room into my budget. I sooooo want to go, but it’s just not adding up for me right now. I would absolutely love to go to SoFabCon if the was any way possible.
If I get to come to SoFabCon I will bake another cake and bring it along to show Social Fabric my love, somehow! If I can get it on the plane! Maybe I can slide it in my suitcase and decorate it once I get there?
