Easy Holiday Craft~ Hand Print Christmas Tree

by Linette

handprint easy Christmas tree craft I love making Christmas crafts while my son’s home over Christmas break. We also try to make some handmade cards every year for Grandparents, Aunts, and Uncles.

Here’s an easy hand print Christmas tree you can make this year, for your wall, a card, or a scrapbook.

How to make a hand print Christmas tree:

What you’ll need:

  • several sheets of green construction paper
  • stick on jems
  • snowflake, or other shape buttons
  • glitter
  • beads
  • scissors
  • foam stars, or yellow construction paper to make a star
  • brown construction paper for the stem

How to make it:

  1. Have your child trace around their right or left hand 6 times onto green construction paper.
  2. Cut out the hands, bringing them to a point at the wrist.
  3. Glue 3 hands side by side, barely overlapping to glue, to create the bottom part of your tree.
  4. Glue a brown triangle of brown construction paper under the bottom row, so it sticks out a little at the bottom for the tree’s trunk.
  5. Glue two hands side by side to the 3 hands you’ve already glued, so they’re covering about 3/4 of the other hand, but allowing some of the first three hands to show out the bottom (see photo). This makes the hands look like the branches of a Christmas tree.
  6. Glue the final hand on top of the two hands, this makes the top of your tree.
  7. Decorate the tree however you’d like, you can use buttons, beads, sequins, glitter, or construction paper to make your ornaments.

Hand print christmas tree craft When the tree is finished you can glue it to a larger piece of construction paper to hold it in place, or hang it like it is. These make wonderful keepsakes and gifts for yourself, or for relatives. Write your child’s name and age on the back, so you know how old they were when you made the hand prints. Have fun!

They’d go great with hand print Santas.
