Celebrate World Nutella Day!

by Linette

I have to confess, I’m a new Nutella fan! I just tried it for the first time in the last few months. Now I’m in love with the flavor! My favorite way to eat Nutella is on top of sliced apples for breakfast, but straight out of the jar with a spoon is pretty awesome too!

Did you know today February 5th is World Nutella Day? I didn’t know until just a few weeks ago! To celebrate I have a few Nutella fun facts for you and some delicious Nutella recipes to share!

Nutella fun facts:

  • Nutella’s Facebook page is one of the most followed food pages, with some very dedicated fans!
  • Every day over 70 million hazelnuts are used worldwide to make Nutella. That’s a lot of hazelnuts!
  • Nutella originated in Italy but it’s now sold in over 75 countries around the world.

Now for the Nutella recipes! First up I have a couple yummy Nutella candy recipes to share.

I recently discovered how good Nutella was. I thought the hazelnut would be overpowering, but it’s so good!

We love Nutella and I am so late on getting my banana-Nutella bread up. Once I get it up I’ll add it here. Thanks!

I have to admit, I don’t really dig Nutella – GASP! It seems like everyone loves it {including my whole family}, but for some reason I don’t. BUUUUTTTT – those truffles – well, I think I could learn to like them! 😉

I’m a newbie to the Nutella scene. My son was always begging for it in the grocery store so we finally picked some up – all I can say is WOW! It totally deserves it’s own day, this stuff is amazing!

Is it bad that I haven’t introduced my 3-year old to Nutella because I don’t want to share? I only discovered it a few years ago and can’t remember my life before it…lol!

I became a Nutella fan just a few years ago. I didn’t even know about it until then. It’s so delicious!! I like to dunk pretzel rods in it.

I am a HUGE Nutella fan but totally missed this homage until the end of the day. I’m planning to make a Nutella treat tomorrow when A1 comes home to visit from college, as she’s my Nutella partner in crime!

Mmmm Nutella is so good! We usually go with a homemade version and put it on anything from rice cakes, to apple and banana slices, to eating it straight on a spoon 🙂
