Butterfly Coloring Pages

by Linette

I’ve wanted to create some free coloring pages and printable games to share here at The Kid’s Fun Review for a while now. The last couple weeks I’ve been playing around with different ways to make them. Here’s my first try. They’re are a couple butterfly coloring pages I put together from some photos I took a few years ago.

I made some by editing the image, and others by tracing the edited image. You can print the pages by clicking on the image, or on the link below the image and it will take you to a printable pdf page. Let me know what you like.

The first two were made by tracing the images.

The next two were made by editing the actual photo on Dumpr.net, it’s super easy to use. Just upload your photos and it makes a pencil sketch image for you. The lines are a little softer, and sometimes blurry but I think these would be great for older children or to paint or color and frame. The lines would be much easier to blend.

Here’s the last one. It’s the same butterfly I have on the lily above, I just cut him out and combined him with the lily photo before sketching.

To print: Monarch Butterfly on Thistle Coloring Page

I have more coloring pages and printable games coming. I’ve been playing around with a Wacom Pen Tablet
to draw right on my laptop. So far I’m having a blast getting the hang of it. I’ll be back to share some of the results!

Here’s one of the original photos for reference.

I hope you enjoy coloring the butterfly pages as much as I enjoyed creating them.

That’s an amazing photo, Linette. I didn’t know you were such an accomplished photographer!

I like the top ones where you traced the images by hand. Good for kids of all ages 😉
