I know I mention regularly, my son is not a morning child! Getting him up, fed, and out the door every morning in time for school can be a challenge! I don’t like to have him skip breakfast, but we don’t have time for a complicated breakfast either. Usually his breakfast is a bagel, or toast.
This last week we took the 5 Days of belVita Breakfast challenge, so his breakfast has been belVita Breakfast Biscuits. Usually I gave him the biscuits straight out of the pack, or with a little fresh fruit. Here are the Blueberry Biscuits, you can even see the chunks of dried blueberries in them.
He’s a peanut butter and jelly fan, so we also topped them a couple mornings with PB and J.
I think they would also be delicious topped with a little cream cheese and thinly sliced fruit like fresh strawberries. The challenge worked out really well for our hectic mornings. The breakfast biscuits have 18 grams of whole grain per serving. When I paired that with the fresh fruit, or the peanut butter it did a great job of keeping my son full through the morning. That’s not an easy task.
belVita Breakfast Biscuits come in 3 different flavors, Golden Oat, Blueberry and Apple Cinnamon. They don’t contain any artificial flavors or sweeteners, hydrogenated oils, or high fructose corn syrup. They’re specially baked to release their energy regularly and continuously throughout the morning.
We took all of the flavors with us to my sister’s house la weekend to let all the kids give them a little taste test. My nephew liked the Golden Oat the best, and so did my son.
They all munched them down with a grin on their faces!
I’ve never had breakfast biscuits before, but a friend said they tasted just like breakfast biscuits she had as a kid.
I love that the belVita breakfast Biscuits kept my son satisfied through the morning, and that they were so portable we could grab them and head out the door on mornings when we were running late for school. I’m sure they’ll be one of our go to breakfast ideas from now on.
